The Institute for Diabetes Karlsburg GmbH (IDK GmbH) is a spin-off of the Research Institute for Diabetes in Karlsburg/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The research institute - founded in 1930 by Prof. Gerhardt Katsch - today operates as a non-university institution under private sponsorship. Research in the field of diabetology has made the institute famous far beyond the borders of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

IDK GmbH mainly conducts studies and performance evaluation tests of in vitro diagnostics. The studies are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Medical Devices Act (MPG) and the Medicines Act (AMG). We work according to ICH-GCP and in compliance with the applicable national, European and international regulations.
